Tommy Beard

It all started with an ask! After 20 years of active addiction, Tommy had recently become a new believer and was in a discipleship relationship with Joseph when Joseph approached him to consider moving in with him and his wife. Tommy was a house manager at a local halfway house, living with 11 other guys in recovery. The atmosphere was not conducive to his growth as a new believer and Joseph knew that.
Tommy lived with us for 2 years and in that time grew deeper in his walk with The Lord as well as making some major changes in his life. He confronted many sin habits including giving up smoking and giving up a gambling addiction. He also was able to make many new achievements including saving money, paying off debt, and buying his first car.
Living life on life with Tommy for those years allowed us to share how we walked out our faith, how we handled issues in our marriage, how we approached our finances, how we made major decisions, and how we lived life investing in others and ultimately in God's Kingdom. This in turn gave him necessary tools for his own life and equipped him to be a resource to the addiction community.

Today Tommy lives with his beautiful wife Jocelyn, he is a deacon and active member of Covenant Life Church and leading a bible study, he has recently graduated nursing school, and he is constantly sharing his faith with anyone he gets an opportunity to speak to.

Rayshaw Gadson

Rayshawn Gadson is no stranger to the ministry as we have known him for over 10 years, a testament to having a long-term perspective that looks past the numbers alone. He finally took a step of faith and made the decision to move into the house. During Easter service he chose to be baptized at our church and make a public profession of his faith and new decision to follow Christ.
Ray had been in active addiction for over a decade.
